I researched extensively before all of my purchases, and found that with the Pro Tools LE 8 coupled with the m-audio Fast Track interface, I would not need a mixer, and I would be able to mix the digital inputs directly without spending 2 years in university studying music poduction.

A colleague of mine who used to be a musician, presented me with the Pro Tools LE 8 as a gift to get me going. It took me 3 days to install the Fast Track successfully, and 1 day to install the Pro Tools. The problem is Pro Tools is unable to see the interface.

I have dropped the firewall, dropped the usb power management, uninstalled, re-installed, given really nasty looks at the computer screen, downloaded the latest drivers fo both components, activated device drivers manually and basically I have been inside places in the computer I did not know even existed by following the instructions posted on the m-audio web-site. Please help if you have been through this before, and please note that I am broke now.

Thanks to forums like these I have learned that purchasing new firewire cards never works, so I do not need to waste time or money on that option, This thread is locked.
