The only thing that comes to mind is putting a mini-CD into a tray that doesn't have the mini-CD indentation, and even that wouldn't be fatal. But softmodding an xbox is simple. All you really need is a copy of Splinter Cell the original for xbox - not the greatest hits version , a usb flash drive and an xbox usb adapter. Download a modified save file for splinter cell which loads the softmod exploit onto the flash drive, copy it to the xbox hard drive from the flash drive, then load it in the game, it installs the exploit and BAM you're done.
